Little change in customer experience

The advice industry is not the only one that has a lot of work to do in delivering a better customer experience. In the sixth annual Customer Experience Index released by global research and consulting firm Forrester in January, it is clear that many companies need to put a lot more thought into the customer experience they deliver.

Forrester asked 7506 US customers about their interactions with 14 different sets of industries. The questions Forrester asked were not difficult – did customers feel that a company delivered value, whether they were easy to do business with and whether they were enjoyable to do business with.

It's time for innovation in the advice industry

We are all well aware of the many changes in the advice industry over the last 20 years - the technology, the influence of the regulator, business consolidation, pricing advice and service and a greater focus on client advice rather than the sale of a product. But much of the industry is doing pretty much the same as it always has - just doing similar things a bit better or a bit more often!

It’s time for real innovation.
